|Cool change for Coolum Beach Surf Club|
Just in time for Christmas celebrations, the Coolum Beach Surf Club has undergone a major renovation with the addition of a private dining room and a kitchen upgrade that’s serving up a delicious new menu.
|The club’s Executive Chef Paul Tait is a familiar face to foodies on the Coast. Known further north for his time at Noosa’s Boathouse Bistro and Bar as well as La Sabbia, Paul’s relationship with Pitchers dates back to the late nineties. So when he and the team at Coolum were looking to upgrade and expand their kitchen, naturally Pitchers was their first choice.||
The kitchen has been extended by a metre
and the roof has been raised, giving Paul and his team plenty of extra
room to prepare the club’s new and improved menu. Premium steaks are a
welcome new addition to the menu and Paul was determined to find exactly
the right tableware to accompany his high end steaks, including a
mouth-watering wagyu rib fillet.
Thanks to Pitchers, Paul sourced the perfect steak plate. He secured a black, flat serving plate with an isolated glazed portion to present the steak. Stainless steel steak knives and sauce dishes were also high on Paul’s agenda.
The addition of a full dessert menu, which replaces the cake cabinet, also called for a new Kitchen Aid and an assortment of bakeware sourced and delivered by Pitchers. The innovative sweet treats now on offer include white chocolate brulée, baked lemon tart, cherry ripe spring rolls and home-made doughnuts. Once again, Paul called on Pitchers for innovative tableware to accommodate the new menu. “We used large, pizza plates of flat slate for some of the desserts and I was really impressed with Pitchers ingenuity in securing exactly what I wanted,” Paul said.
“I’ve worked with Pitchers for more than two decades and I look forward to the next twenty years of our association. They were just as excited as we were to be expanding our kitchen and it was great to have their support and enthusiasm throughout the entire renovation.”
